In addition to the services and structured programs, the Dr. George W. Davis Senior Center also serves as central meeting place — a true community center where some seniors can relax, catch up with their friends and neighbors, play pool or dominoes, and drink coffee. The Center retains the values of a community village that elders from historical Southern Black communities have brought to the Bayview, creating their own small town with people who have known each other for decades. Every Thursday, whist and domino night, pool tournaments, special events and the ever popular Monday Night Jazz Series makes the Senior Center a happening place.
